QUETTA: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday has said that the Quetta attack reminded us that we were in a state of war which required internal unity.
Addressing a press conference in Quetta, he said that those attempting to internally disunite Pakistan were enemies of the country.
He stressed that political differences need to be put aside in such situations and added, “We all have to work together to secure our future. We become more determined with every such cowardly attack”.
The minister appealed to all political parties, saying “this is the time to unite against terrorism and shun our differences”.
The minister said peace and development were inter-linked, “which is why our government, through operations Zarb-e-Azb and Raddul Fasaad, was attempting to put the country on the path of development. God willing such acts will also end soon”.
He also assured the cooperation of the federal government with all provincial governments, saying the enemy was very clever and has specific designs against Pakistan.
