Ahsan Iqbal voices concern over university graduates joining terror outfits

KARACHI: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has voiced great concern over the trend of educated, university graduates joining terrorist organisations.
Addressing the media after visiting the headquarters of the Pakistan Coast Guards, the minister said that media, government and parents of students needed to play their part in addressing the issue.
He directed the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to take concrete steps to ensure students do not turn to ideologies promoting terrorism and militancy.
Iqbal said that the Ansarul Shariah group, which has been found to be involved in the recent spate of terrorism in the city, had been largely contained and the law enforcement agencies would nab the remaining few members soon.
