FATA development committee approves 15km Khyber-Kurram road


PESHAWAR: A meeting of FATA Development Committee chaired by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Engr: Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, was held at Governor’s House here on Thursday. Besides others, the meeting was also attended by the Additional Chief Secretary FATA Mr. Sikandar Qayyum and Administrative Secretaries of the FATA Secretariat.
The meeting approved various developmental schemes pertaining to roads, bridges, livestock and agriculture development sectors. The approved projects also included construction and blacktopping of 15 km long road connecting Khyber Agency and Kurram Agency. This road starting from Tira Maidan, Khyber Agency to Toortoot Kurram Agency will facilitate the vast population of both the agencies. The Governor while appreciating the scheme said that on completion, this road would not only reduce the distance from Peshawar to Khyber Agency and Kurram Agency but also facilitate thousand of people of the area”.
The Governor on this occasion also directed the concerned officials to ensure the completion of the developmental schemes within the stipulated time and in accordance with budget estimates.
Earlier, the Governor was given a detailed briefing about developmental projects in FATA.
