FATA people to decide about their fate: JUI-F Chief

ISLAMABAD):Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, Chief Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazal) on Wednesday said that people of Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) should be given authority to decide about their fate and further status of their area.
Speaking here at National Assembly, JUI-F Chief said that a gathering of tribal people was held in Peshawar on July 15-16, 2012 and consensus was reached on three options including merger of FATA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), giving status of province to FATA and bring further reforms in the present system.
Later, he said that Grand Jirga of 5000 persons from all sects and communities was held and it was decided that future of the tribal area would be decided by this Jirga having representation of all. He said that it is the right of people of FATA to decide about their fate and this is the only way in the entire world.Maulana Fazal ur Rehman said that they are not against the merger of FATA in KP but out demand is to ask people of FATA about their future. He said there has been various flaws in Rewaj Bill and it has been admitted by all political parties at this stage.He said that Youth of FATA are gathering in Peshawar on Friday (October 13) and future decision about status of FATA should be made through collective wisdom.
