IGP directs for payment of crossed cheque to police deployed with polio teams

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Salahuddin Khan has directed police officers to pay crossed cheques to police personnel deployed for polio campaign. These directives were issued to all Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) in special circular issued from CPO Peshawar here on Monday.     It may be recalled that the fund for feeding charges of security personnel in polio campaign is kept on the disposal of DPO for expenditure.
In order to make the spending of polio budget more transparent, they have been directed to monetize the feeding charges on the rates framed by UAE PAP. Under the UAE PAP framed ratio police upper subordinates shall be paid amount Rs 500 and lower subordinates as Rs 300 per day.
They were further directed in the circular to pay the police personnel deployed in polio campaign through individual “Crossed Cheque” to each official without any exceptions.     It has also been directed in the circular that each DPO will intimate CPO about the detail of expenditure of each polio campaign.
Similarly they were further directed that the Annual Internal Audit carried out by the police department shall also include audit of fund for National Immunization Polio campaign and of other such funds which are not the part of Regular Annual Appropriation of Finance Department.– APP
