Kashmiris observing shutdown against sham polls in IOK

SRIANAGAR: Shutter-down strike is on Wednesday being observed in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) against the killing of civilians by Indian Army as all educational institutions, shops and other activities have been kept suspended.
All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik and Syed Ali Gilani have been placed under house arrest. Furthermore, the dummy administration has imposed curfew in the occupied valley and banned the locals from holding public gatherings.
Let it be known that a woman was killed and over one dozen people were injured in the firing of Indian troops on protesters in Shopian, the Kashmir Media Service reported on Tuesday (yesterday).
The incident occurred when people took to the streets in different areas of Shopian against the killing of two youth by the troops during a violent siege and search operation in Wanipora area of the district.
The troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells to disperse the protesters resulting in the killing of a young woman identified as wife of Manzoor Ahmad and injuring of several others. The woman received a bullet in abdomen.
Massive clashes between the protesters and Indian forces’ personnel erupted afterwards. The puppet authorities snapped the mobile internet services in Shopian district and suspended the train service in the Kashmir Valley.
