Janjua chairs meeting on Madrasah reforms

Pakistan faces perception problem in international media: Janjua

ISLAMABAD: National Security Adviser (NSA) Lt. General Nasser Khan Janjua Thursday convened an important meeting to review progress made so far on Madrasah reforms.
Among others, Federal Minister for Education Baleegh Ur Rehman, prominent members of Wifaq ul Madaris and  Itihad-e-Tanzeemmat-e-Madaris Pakistan Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman, Qari Muhammad Hanif Jalandhri, Muhammad Yasin Zafar, Maulana Abdul Malik, Maulana Niyaz Hussain Naqvi and senior official  from different departments of the Education Ministry attended the meeting.
According to a press release, the NSA gave the meeting participants a presentation on the efforts made so far to absorb the students of Madaris in the mainstream educational system of the country.
He said the reforms were aimed at making the students useful citizens of the society so that they could join any profession of their choice like every citizen in the country.He discussed matters pertaining to curriculum, strategy and procedures involved in the process of mainstreaming, proposed system of examination and further up gradation of Madaris in future.  The participants appreciated the progress made so far and reiterated resolve to continue working together for provision of better opportunities to students of Madaris.
