KP Govt, Chinese company ink agreement for animals’ farming, export


PESHAWAR: The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a Chinese company Zhejiang Dowish Import & Export Co. Ltd on Thursday signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) for animals’ farming and export.
The agreement signed as part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, under which the KP government would export animals to China and in return, China would assist in establishing modern farms for the animals in different districts of the province. Secretary Agriculture and Livestock Muhammad Israr on behalf of the Government of KP and Zhang Xichun on behalf of Zhejiang Dowish Import & Export Co. Ltd, China signed the MoU. On the occasion, Special Assistant to CM Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Livestock Mohibullah Khan, DG Livestock Extension Dr. Sher Muhammad, Additional Secretary Agriculture & Livestock Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, Director Research Iqbal Khattak, representatives of China Company & concerned officers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government attended the ceremony.
After the signing ceremony, Special Assistant to CM Mohibullah Khan, Secretary Agriculture and Livestock Muhammad Israr Khan and Zhang Xichung, representative of China Company in their address on the occasion said that under CPEC scheme, the MoU signed between government of KP and China Company is very important that would help reducing unemployment, economic stability and enhancing trading activities. The agreement would also be helpful in enhancing the trade business of small traders of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Special Assistant Mohibullah Khan and Secretary Agriculture and Livestock Muhammad Israr Khan said that the environment was very pleasant for foreign investment in KP and we value the China investment in KP.
