LAHORE: Islamabad United Director Cricketer Waqar Younis has warned that match-fixing is not completely ruled out of cricket and said collective efforts are required to eradicate this evil out of the sport.
Talking to media in a press conference in Lahore, the legendary fast bowler and former Pakistan coach said match-fixing has damaged our cricket a lot and its roots are still very strong.
The veteran said he will guide young players to stay away from suspicious persons on and off the field. He maintained that players can prolong their careers by staying away from corruption in cricket.
Waqar also hoped that Pakistan Super League (PSL) will further help in the revival of international cricket as more foreign stars will be in action in the third edition of the league. PSL2 final, World XI series and Sri Lanka’s visit sent positive message to the world, he said.
