Time ripe to reopen Nato supply: Khar
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has said Nato supply routes through Pakistan, closed for some six months now, should be reopened as the country cannot afford confrontation with 48 member countries of Nato.
Talking to reporters on board the prime minister’s aircraft back to Pakistan from London, the foreign minister said the decision to suspend supply to Nato forces stationed in Afghanistan was right, however now time is ripe to restore it.
She said British government also made the demand to reopen the supply, adding that if it was not resorted, it will multiply Pakistan’s problems.
Pakistan is member of UN and is bound to fulfill its responsibilities. Army has no influence over foreign policy; however, suspension of supply to Nato could affect army.
