Top political, military brass discuss NATO supplies
ISLAMABAD: Country’s top political and military brass met at the Presidency for a high level meeting here on Monday.
The meeting is underway with President Asif Ali Zardari in the chair. Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, and Prime Minister, Yousaf Raza Gilani attended the meeting.
The army chief briefed the attendants of the details of his meeting with the Commander of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), General John Allen, a day earlier.
According to sources, the high-level meeting is focusing on Pak-US relations and the reopening of NATO supply routes.
NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen Friday implicitly said that if NATO supplies were not resumed, Pakistan could be sidelined in NATO conference in Chicago.
The conference would be held in Chicago on May 20-21, and would be attended by more than 60 leaders and heads of state.
