Pakistan, US for better understanding, deeper cooperation against terrorism

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United States Thursday noted the importance of better understanding and deeper cooperation to deal with challenges such as terrorism.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Nafees Zakaria, a ten-member delegation of the US led by Deputy Assistant to the President Lisa Curtis held talks with Pakistani delegation at Foreign Ministry. The Pakistani delegation was led by Foreign secretary Tehmina Janjua, while DGMO was also part of the Pakistani team.
During the meeting, the status of bilateral relations in diverse areas, regional situations including situation in Afghanistan and human rights violations in Indian-Occupied Kashmir, along with Pakistan’s relation with neigbouring country India were discussed.
He added, “Both sides noted the importance of better understanding [and] deeper coopration to deal with challenges particularly terrorism that is a common enemy.”
“Both sides agreed to continue bilateral engagements at all levels,” Zakaria added.
