PM Abbasi assures protesters to accept their demands seeking merger with KP


ISLAMABAD: Tribal people’s protest in Islamabad seeking merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has turned to be fruitful as Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi assured to accept their demands.
Representatives of multiple political parties including Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and locals of FATA rallied in the federal capital on Monday from press club to parliament house.
Workers clashed with the law enforcers as they moved towards the Red Zone to record their protest.
The protesters then staged a sit-in outside parliament however; after the passage of seven hours a representative delegation of the protesters met the premier and put forward their demands.
The Prime Minister after listening the grievances of the delagation assured them of forming a new committee and implementing the recommendations of the Reform Committee pertaining to FATA.
