PPP to give sense of ownership to people of Karachi: Bilawal

LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Sunday said that the PPP would give ownership to the people of Karachi, adding that development projects were being completed in the port city.
Talking to newsmen at the death anniversary of Jehangir Badar, the PPP chairman said that the political parties of Karachi were fighting for their personal rights. He promised that the PPP would give sense of ownership to the people of Karachi.
To a question he termed the recent political developments in Karachi as farce, adding that the city deserves better.
He said that Karachi’s citizens would not give any importance to to ‘puppet politicians.’
“Karachi’s political situation is odd,” he said, adding “a strange game is being played with the people of Karachi.”
“We are struggling to give Karachi a sense of ownership and we know Karachi’s citizens won’t pay heed to puppet politicians,” said Bilawal.
Like all the previous puppets in Karachi, these puppets also failed, he remarked. He also shared that if PPP comes into power then it will “bring progress in Karachi along with a clean leadership.”
On political rival Nawaz Sharif, he said that “Nawaz can’t be saved now”.
He paid rich tributes to late Jehangir Badar and said that he would be remembered forever for his services for PPP and the country. He said that Jehangir Badar was a devoted and loyal politician, who never changed his loyalties.
Later, at a party meeting in Lahore, Bilawal reiterated PPP’s stance on the supremacy of democracy, law and constitution.
“We haven’t deserted [our] ideology nor will we change our thinking. There is no ambiguity about this is our party. We will not support any undemocratic move,” Bilawal said at a meeting with senior party leaders in Bilawal House, Lahore.
