PTI, MQM-P challenges Electoral Reforms Bill 2017 in SHC

ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has convened a party meeting at 3pm here at his residence in Banigala to deliberate upon the particular section of Electoral Reforms Bill 2017 which will pave way for the ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to become president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The meeting will take stock of the approval of the bill from the lower house and discuss to chalk-out a plan to oppose the section of the bill which will annul the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif as party president.
During the meeting, PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi will brief participants of the meeting about his contacts and meetings with the opposition parties.
Meanwhile, PTI and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) have challenged the Electoral Reforms Bill 2017 in Sindh High Court (SHC) pleading to the court that the bill was against the constitution.
The bill has been challenged by the senators of MQM-P, Ali Zaidi and Alamgir of Fix It.
