KARACHI: An accused of blasphemy was shot dead in Tando Adam city of Sindh on Friday, BBC Urdu reported on Saturday.
According to report, Atta Mohammad was released from jail on bail few days ago. SSP Sanghra Dr Farukh confirmed that Atta Mohammad was shot dead on Friday morning, while the police arrested two killers in the evening, who confessed to the killing of the accused on the bank of a river.
The police registered a murder FIR in the city police station. Deceased Atta Mohammad was arrested in 2012 after registration of an FIR of blasphemy charges by Altaf Junejo advocate. Altaf had alleged that Atta Mohammad had told him at a court that he is prophet. The police arrested him.
However, on the application of relatives of Atta Mohammad, a medical board was constituted which declared him as mentally not fit. He was released four weeks ago on bail.
