Riyadh-bound passengers flight of PIA escapes disaster


LAHORE:A Riyadh, Saudi Arabia bound passengers flight of the Pakistan International Airlines  (PIA) on Wednesday had to make an emergency landing after warning of smoke from the plane.
According to the PIA sources, PIA flight PK-755 departed for Saudi Arabia from Sialkot at 6:00 am. The plane made an emergency landing at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore after smoke was detected in the cargo compartment of the Airbus A-320 jet.
The pilot received warning of smoke soon after the takeoff. The pilot made an emergency landing at Lahore  airport after getting instructions from the control room, sources informed. About 300 passengers were onboard. All passengers were safely evacuated after the landing. The aircraft was undergoing full check-up and would leave for Riyadh after getting clearance from the engineering department, PIA spokesman said.– APP
