Sattar asks PM Abbasi to open MQM’s sealed offices in Karachi, Hyderabad

KARACHI: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has accepted the mandate of the MQM in Sindh, claimed MQM-Pakistan chief Farooq Sattar, asking the federal government to return sealed offices in Karachi and Hyderabad to MQM.
He was talking to newsmen after meeting with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the governor’s house here on Saturday. Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and other MQM leaders were also part of the delegation.
Farooq Sattar said that they raised the issue of missing party workers with the prime minister. He said that they informed the prime minister about the problems being faced by the people of Karachi especially the potable water issue and roads construction. He said that Waseem Akhtar and governor Sindh were working on Karachi package, which would be announced soon.
He said that the MQM wanted long-term partnership with the federal government. He said that they also demanded of the prime minister to return the MQM offices in Karachi and Hyderabad to MQM-Pakistan. He also asked the prime minister that the federal government should ensure the political freedom for MQM. Waseem Akhtar expressed his concern about imbalance in power in Sindh.
Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi assured the MQM delegation that the federal government’s projects would be completed on time.
