Sattar, Rabita committee members leave for Yadgar-e-Shuhada

KARACHI: MQM-P chief Dr Farooq Sattar and other MQM-P leaders left for Yadgar-e-Shuhada to offer prayers for the party workers.
Talking to media along with members of the Rabita committee outside MQM-P office, Farooq Sattar said that only he and Rabita committee members would visit Azizabad to pay homage to ‘martyrs’ of the party.
He said that the local administration only approved permission for Rabta committee members’ visit to Yadgar-e-Shuhada . He said that they have succeeded in revival of 1986’s spirit of the MQM among the workers.
He said that they were told that there was serious threat to their lives, therefore, the workers should not join them. However, he asked that why only MQM-P leaders were under threat.
He said that the MQM-P has directed the workers not to come to Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
Earlier talking to media along with his mother outside his residence, Sattar said that prior to the memorial site he will go to the party’s Bahadurabad office where he will address the media in detail. He said that he would inform the media about permission for rally.
Earlier his mother told journalists that her son has made many sacrifices over the years. She reiterated that Sattar viewed everyone through the same lens. She prayed for the martyrs before handing blessing her son ahead of his visit.
