14 killed, 5 injured in van-trailer collision on Chakri Interchange

ISLAMABAD: At least fourteen people including four children were killed and five injured when a van collided with a trailer near Chakri Interchange on Tuesday on the motorway.
A spokesperson for the National Highways and Motorways Police said the passenger van, travelling from Jhang to Rawalpindi, caught fire after the accident, a news channel reported.
The fire was doused by fire brigade officials who reached the site alongwith motorway police officials.
Injured passengers were shifted to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad and CMH Rawalpindi.
Accident was caused by sleepy driver of passenger van, according to the initial reports.
The motorway police said the identities of the deceased passengers have yet to be ascertained. – APP
