Universities must focus on provision of quality education, research: Jhagra

KP governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra refuses to resign

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engr. Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said that Universities must focus on the provision of quality education and research as provision of quality education is of paramount importance for the development of society.
He was addressing 2-days National Conference on “Emerging Trends in Computing, Statistics and Mathematical Sciences” held at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar on Tuesday. The Conference was attended by Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Prof. Dr. Suleman Mazhar, Prof. Dr. Siraj ul Islam, Prof. Dr. Tasawar, Faculty members and prominent Researchers and scholars from all over the country and students of the University.
The Governor said that SBBWU is playing an important role in the provision of standard and higher education besides promoting research. He added that universities are fountain of knowledge which play vital role in the development of nations. The Governor also appreciated the efforts of the university by organizing this national conference.
The Governor while appreciating the University administration for providing opportunities of higher education facilities to the female students of FATA said that it will help in promoting higher education in FATA.
Earlier, VC of the University highlighted the aims and objectives of the conference.
