Afghanistan hands over 5 martyred FC men’s bodies to Pakistan

PARACHINAR/KHOST: The Afghan officials Monday handed over dead bodies of five FC personnel to Pakistan, Afghan media reported.
According to reports, at least five Frontier Corps (FC) personnel deployed at the Pak-Afghan border were reported martyred while 12 others were injured in an attack from across the border.
According to local political administration, the attack was carried out at border post in Laka Tika area of Lower Kurram Agency from the Khost province of Afghanistan.
FATA MNA Sajid Toori ahs reportedly said that the skirmishes also left at least 10 assailants dead and several injured. The bodies of the slain FC troops were recovered after officials from both sides held talks. MNA Toori was also part of the dialouge.
According to government officials, scores of armed tribesmen from the Bangash and other tribes had rushed to the border to support under-fire Pakistani security personnel.
Similarly, the Afghan tribesmen had also supported the Afghan security forces.
Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) claimed that 14 Pakistani soldiers were killed in the clash.
Khost officials said the bodies of five Pakistani border soldiers have been handed over to Pakistan.
Talking to reporters, Khost governor, Hukam Khan Habibi said that the bodies of the Pakistan soldiers were handed over to their own country in Stiwan area of Zazai Maidan district Monday afternoon.
He said a number of Pakistani soldiers who were captured alive were also handed over to Pakistan today afternoon.
Two civilians from Zazai Maidan district of Khost were also killed during the clash and their funeral ceremony was held on Sunday, he said.– Agencies
