KABUL: Six soldiers have embraced martyrdom and 30 militants killed in newest military operations, ministries of defense and interior announced on Wednesday.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Defense states that the six Afghan National Army soldier lost lives in roadside bomb blasts and militant fire in past 24 hours. The statement does not specify the exact location of the incidents.
In the meantime, a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior states that 30 militants were killed and 40 others wounded in separate military operations in past 24 hours.
According to the statement the operations were carried out in Maidan Wardak, Logar, Faryab, Helmand, Kandahar, Zabul and Oruzgan province jointly by Afghan National Police, Afghan National Army and personnel from the National Directorate of Security (NDS).
Security forces also defused dozens of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) placed by insurgents, the Ministry of Defense statement ads.
