ABBOTTABAD: Interior minister Ahsan Iqbal has on Wednesday urged the political and religious parties to refrain from promoting politics involving sit-ins and agitation.
Talking to media in Abbottabad, he said that politics of agitation and sit-ins weakened the country.
He said that Pakistan needed to strengthen its economy to compete with the world.
The minister added that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Nawaz Sharif was leading a campaign that aimed at provision of justice to all the people on the basis of equality.
Interior minister said that Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan should quit politics that aims at disturbing the state with sit-ins.
He maintained that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would change the fate of millions of Pakistanis.
