Another suspect in Mashal Khan murder case apprehended: DPO Saeed

ATC sentences two suspects to life in prison in Mashal Khan case

MARDAN: The Mardan police have arrested one of the few suspects, at large, in the lynching of Mashal Khan – a journalism student of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM).
Mardan District Police Officer (DPO) Mian Saeed said that the suspect named as Izhar alias Juni was arrested from Saddar area of Mardan.
He added that the suspect was in possession of a Kalashnikov, a Kalakov and a pistol.
The suspect was wanted to the police for eight months, the DPO said and added that as many as 58 suspects were in custody whereas three are still at large.
Meanwhile, the murder case of Mashal Khan is pending in an anti-terrorism court inside Haripur Jail wherein at the last hearing, Mashal’s father Mohammad Iqbal recorded his statement.
Mashal Khan was a journalism student at Abdul Wali Khan University in Mardan who was killed by a violent mob on the pretext of committing blasphemy on April 13.
