ISLAMABAD: A three-day anti-polio campaign has been kicked off in sixteen districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, three districts of Punjab and 174 union councils of Karachi.
According to Provincial Health Department, the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where the drive has been launched included Peshawar, Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Bannu, Karak, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Kurram, Orakzai, South and North Waziristan districts.
More than three point five million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio drops.
About fourteen thousand teams have been constituted which will visit door-to-door to ensure administering anti-polio drops to the children.
Polio teams will also be available at railway stations, bus stands, Afghan refugees camps and other public places to ensure administering anti-polio drops to each and every child.
Meanwhile, five-day anti polio drive also began in three districts of Punjab today.
During the campaign nearly 1.7 million children less than five years of age will be administered anti-polio vaccine.
A six-day anti-polio campaign also commences in 174 union councils of Karachi today.
