Anti-polio drive at Torkham border from March 25

PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has decided to start all age polio vaccination campaign on Pak-Afghan border at Tourkham from 25th of this month.
Briefing newsmen in Peshawar on Tuesday, Coordinator Emergency Operation Center Kamran Ahmad Afridi said the aim of the campaign is to eradicate transfer of polio virus between the two countries.
He said in the next polio campaign, vaccine will be administered to children up to ten years of age in Peshawar district.
Kamran Ahmad Afridi said Emergency Response Unit has been established in Peshawar City to monitor the polio virus in sanitation water.
He urged the media, politicians, religious scholars and teachers to take part in the eradication of polio.
