APC to decide about opposition strategy for protest against govt: Abbasi

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi records statement before NAB in LNG case

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and senior vice president of the PML-N Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the all parties conference (APC) would take final decision about protest after Eidul Fitr.
He was talking to newsmen after meeting of the PML-N here on Monday. He said that respect the vote was the narrative of the PML-N in the past, it is also the current narrative of the PML-N. He said that Mian Nawaz Sharif was in jail because of his narrative.
He said tha the PML-N did not aim at toppling of the government or grabbing the power, but to highlight the problems of the people. He said that the APC would decide whether to take to streets or not. He said that if the fresh election was solution to the current crisis, the APC, to be convened by JUI-F chief, could demand fresh polls in the country. He added that if solution to the people problems lies with the toppling of the government, the APC would also take decision in this regard.
He termed the ongoing accountability as political victimization. He strongly reacted to the NAB chairman interview and said that there was no clarification from the NAB chief office.
Meanwhile, earlier talking newsmen at the parliament house, Maryam Nawaz said that she did not accept the authority of the fake and puppet prime minister because he was an insult to the office.
The PML-N leader said that the country would be in crisis if the vote was not given its due respect. “The NAB can’t see properties discovered of Aleema Khan. It doesn’t call their names,” she said after the party’s high-level huddle.
She said that there won’t be any credibility left of accountability process due to selected accountability. “The fake prime minister and ministers tell the world who NAB is going to arrest in next five days,” she added.
The PML-N leader said that the party follows only one narrative which is of its leader Nawaz Sharif, even those who disagreed with Nawaz’s narrative is now standing with him.
“If a person calls for the implementation of the constitution then no one should have any objection,” he said. “A democratically elected government can resolve the prevailing issues.”
