RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has vowed to continue to respond effectively to the Indian unprovoked firing and maintained that no stone will be left unturned to defend motherland.
He said this while attending a briefing in Jhelum on Monday.
The army chief also attended funeral prayer of the soldiers in Jhelum, who embraced martyrdom in Indian cross border firing at Line of Control.
General Raheel paid rich tributes to the valour and sacrifice of the brave soldiers.
Earlier, seven Pakistani soldiers embraced martyrdom in unprovoked firing by Indian forces along LoC at Bhimber sector.
The Pakistani troops effectively targeted the Indian posts while responding to the unprovoked firing.
According to sources, the Indian side also suffered major casualties as a result of Pakistan’s retaliatory fire.
