Asad Umar has expressed satisfaction over improved economic situation of the country amid increased foreign remittances.
Asad Umar said strong remittance flows are helping significantly with our external account.
He further said the biggest vulnerability of country’s economy, its unsustainable high external debt, is being improved as a result of this excellent performance.
In addition to this he said it is needed to sustain high remittance flows for achieving true economic independence.
According State Bank, foreign remittances flow reached to 2.34 billion dollars during last month which is 28.4 percent higher to the same month of last year. This is sixth consecutive month that recorded over two billion dollars remittances.
