ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Power Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari has refused to provide gas to K-Electric for nonpayment of due money what the minister said to be in billions.
In a statement, Awais Leghari advised Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Murad Ali Shah to end stealing electricity from the province and avoid hoodwinking people under the garb of protest.
Meanwhile, Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Chief Mustafa Kamal has demanded of the Chief Justice, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar to take suo moto notice of intensified power outages in Karachi.
During a protest outside K-Electric office organized by PSP, the protesters chanted slogans against the company and demanded to overcome the energy crisis at any cost.
The protest was later called off after negotiation with K-Electric official.
Karachi is facing load-shedding of more than 12 hours daily on the name of technical glitches.
