Banks starts receiving Hajj applications today

ISLAMABAD: Branches of designated banks has commenced receiving Hajj applications from Monday (today) with the statement of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony that a total of 179,210 Pakistanis will be able to perform Hajj this year.
A spokesman for the ministry has said radio that Hajj applications would be received till 24th of this month at thirteen designated bank branches across Pakistan, including Azad Kashmir.
He said that balloting for successful applicants would be held on 26th of this month and the successful applicants would be informed via SMS and general mail.
He added that balloting results would also be available on the website of the ministry.
The spokesperson said that applications of 120,000 pilgrims would be taken under government scheme while 59,210 under private Hajj scheme.
The spokesperson said that this time a quota of 10,000 had been fixed for those who had been applying for the Hajj for last three years, but remained unsuccessful.
