ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has condemned media censorship and promised to raise the problems being faced by media in the parliament.
He was talking to protesting journalists outside the Parliament Building on Tuesday. The PFUJ has set up a protest camp outside the parliament building to protest media censorship. He expressed solidarity with the journalist community.
The PPP chairman said that the PPP is a leftist party and always stood by the journalists. He said that the PPP not only condemned the media censorship, but would also raise the issue in National Assembly, Senate and on roads.
He said that the PPP always supported the journalists whenever they faced injustice, adding that the PPP and journalists jointly struggled against military dictatorship of Gen Zia and Gen Musharraf. He said that the government did not take any step for the welfare of the people. He said that the PPP and journalists would joint resist the new system to control the media in Naya Pakistan.
