Bilawal renews demand for election date announcement

OKARA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari once again called for the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to announce the date of the upcoming election during a press conference held in Okara on Monday.

Bilawal reiterated his party’s demand for the prompt announcement of the election date by the ECP. He also took a swipe at the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for welcoming Raja Riaz, the former National Assembly opposition leader, into their party.

In response to another question, Bilawal emphasized his own status as a young leader and his deep understanding of the challenges faced by the youth. He stressed the importance of young people taking control of their own future.

Bilawal also mentioned that the PPP had long advocated for the return of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif. He emphasized that the PPP could not be sidelined under any circumstances and pointed to their participation in the 2007 elections, which took place following the tragic death of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

Regarding recent concerns raised in PPP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC) meetings about the need for a fair electoral environment, Bilawal revealed that former President Asif Ali Zardari had been tasked with addressing this issue. He added that if progress was not made on this front, he would urge Asif Zardari to take decisive action.
