KARACHI: Routine business activities in Karachi and others cities of Sindh resumed on Sunday at around 1pm after shutter-down strike was observed on MQM’s call against “anti-Sindh budget” of provincial government on Sunday.
Markets and business centers, that usually remain open in Karachi on Sunday, were shut in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Kharadar, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Nazimabad, Azizabad, and other areas.
Public transport remained thin on roads today as compared to other days, with CNG and petrol filling stations closed in various areas.
A partial strike was observed in other towns of Sindh, including Hyderabad, Tando Adam and Mirpurkhas.
Meanwhile, business activities resumed in Karachi and others cities after MQM’s Coordination Committee appealed traders and transporters to resume their routine activities at 1pm.
It said MQM chief Altaf Hussain has directed workers and supporters to cut down the strike to pay respect to the preparation of upcoming month of Ramdan.
