ISLAMABAD: Following Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s appointment as chief justice, significant transformations have occurred within the Supreme Court, affecting two other crucial areas of the judicial system.
The Supreme Judicial Council will undergo changes with the addition of Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan, joining Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood who are already members of the council. This council comprises the chief justice and the two most senior judges from the Supreme Court, as well as the two most senior judges from high courts.
The Judicial Commission, responsible for approving judge appointments, will also experience modifications with the inclusion of Justice Muneeb Akhtar.
This commission comprises the chief justice, the court’s four most senior judges, the attorney general, a retired judge, and the law minister.
