ISLAMABAD: The National Security Adviser (NSA) Nasser Janjua on Tuesday met the Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing as both representatives acknowledged the sacrifices made by Pakistan in war against terrorism.
In the meeting today, the Chinese Ambassador Jing said that China stands firmly with Pakistan in all situations and admitted that Pakistan gave matchless sacrifices in the war against terror.
He added that China has always considered Pakistan as their close friend and a reliable partner for peace and stability in a turbulent region. He expressed his commitment to take Pak-China relations to a new level in line with the wishes of the people and leadership of the two countries.
On the other hand, Janjua welcomed Jing to Pakistan and called it ‘second home’ for him. He expressed disappointment and concern over the anti-Pakistan tweet emanating from the highest level in Washington as the recent statement of the US President Donald Trump on Twitter came into discussion.
The two underlined that Pakistan-China relationship not only served the fundamental interests of the people of the two countries but was also crucial for peace and stability in South Asia and the larger Asia-Pacific region.
Also, they stressed the need for political reconciliation in Afghanistan and an early closure of the Afghan conflict. They expressed support for the regional and multilateral initiatives for political reconciliation in Afghanistan, including the trilateral process involving China-Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The US President Donald Trump had categorically said “no more” aid to Pakistan in his recent tweet. He had said on Twitter, “The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools.”
