ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Umar Ata Bandial has formed a larger bench of the Supreme Couret to hear the petitions against the Audio Leaks Commission.
The larger bench, consisting of five judges headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, will hear the petitions against the Audio Leaks Commission tomorrow.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had filed a constitutional petition, through Advocate Babar Awan, against the formation of the Judicial Commission, requesting that the notification for the formation of the Judicial Commission be declared null and void.
Similarly, another petition has been filed against the formation of the Judicial Commission by Advocate Riaz Hanif Rahi. The petition includes the government of Pakistan and the Joint Secretary Cabinet Division as respondents.
The petition requests the court to declare the formation of the Judicial Commission as unconstitutional and null and void. It alleges that the Judicial Commission is violating the fundamental rights of the people by engaging in violations of their valuable fundamental rights as provided in the constitution.
