ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Saqib Nisar has summoned Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Air Blue and other CEOs of airlines of the country in the apex court’s Karachi Registry on Saturday.
The chief justice gave the directions while heading a three-member bench hearing the suo motu case related to fake degrees of airline employees.
The court observed that the complete data from all airlines has still not been submitted to the court, adding that the CEOs should explain this, at the next hearing.
During the proceedings, the court was informed that 24 pilots’ degrees have been discovered to be fake.
Hearing yet another case regarding fake degrees of lawyers, the chief justice ordered the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to cooperate with authorities in the degrees’ verification process.
The court also directed all bar councils across the country to furnish a response in a month in this regards.
