SC to announce judgement on 'Population Control' case tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has taken suo motu notice of the tax imposed on petroleum products and will take up the issue on Sunday.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) headed by CJP will conduct hearing on the notice while notices have been issued to the Ministry of Petroleum and its secretary.
The Finance Ministry, Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) and Attorney General have also been issued notices in this connection.
Prior to this, the CJP had also taken notice of taxes imposed on mobile phone cards.
