CM Shehbaz opens surgical tower

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab MuhammadShehbaz Sharif inaugurated the newly built state-of-the-art surgical tower at Mayo Hospital, here on Friday.Various provincial ministers, assembly members, doctors and staff were present on the occasion.
Comprising 385 beds, the tower has different sectionsincluding 16 operation theatres, the latest CT scan machines and the a burns unit comprising 91 beds.Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said thatrevolutionary steps were being taken for improving the healthsector along with provision of latest facilities to peopleby the government.
He said that latest CT scan machines had been installed at the surgical tower and patients would have round-the-clock facility of CT scan.He said that latest medical equipment had been made available in the operation theatres of surgical tower adding that digital angiography and vesicular surgery was being introduced for the first time in Pakistan.
He appreciated the Health Department for ensuring timely and qualitative construction of surgical tower and acknowledged that the 6-storey building was equipped with the latest medical facilities which would give the best treatment to patients.Earlier, the chief minister inspected the burns centre,ICU, treatment room and sterilization room and also visited hydrotherapy and shower room. — APP
