COAS chairs meeting about Lahore blast

LAHORE: Chief of General Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa chaired a high level meeting regarding Lahore blast at corps headquarters on Tuesday.
According to reports, Corps commander Lt Gen Sadiq Ali briefed the army chief about the Lahore blast and security situation in Punjab. DG Rangers Punjab and intelligence agencies top officials were also present on this occasion.
According to reports, the meeting decided that the intelligence agencies would launch operation against banned groups in Punjab, which would be started from Southern Punjab. The army would provide complete help to intelligence agencies in this regard. The combing operation would also be intensified.  The meeting decided that the provincial government would be taken into confidence before the operation.
Meanwhile, COAS also visited the residence of martyred DIG Capt Mobin and condoled with the bereaved family. The army chief also visited the Service hospital and inquired after the health of the injured of the Lahore blast.
