DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Khyber Pakhunkhwa Minister for Revenue Ali Amin Gandapur handed over to police on one-day judicial remand
Gandapur is accused of forcefully taking ballot boxes during Khyber Pakhtunkhuwan (KP) Local Bodies Elections.
The police produced Ali Amin Gadapur before judicial magistrate admits tight security arrangements.
Last night, the minister surrendered to police after registration of an FIR against him.
The preliminary report said vote count was afoot in Hemath Adda polling station of Dera Ismail Khan when Gandapur accompanied by his brother Umar Amin Gandapur, a candidate for tehsil nazim, and his armed supporters appeared on the scene, picked up ballot boxes and began putting them in the minister’s car.
The on duty police officers made attempt to prevent the minister from doing so but in vain.
Later today, SHO Cantt police station Saifur Rehman registered an FIR against the minister. The FIR at Saddar police station booked Gandapur, his brother Umar and their security guards under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code, including assault on a public servant in order to debar him from his duties.
