PESHAWAR: The health authorities have declared five districts as high risk areas due to rise in dengue cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to officials, the districts of Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Charsadda, and Bajaur are witnessing a surge in dengue cases, prompting them to classify these areas as high-risk. The number of dengue cases in the province has now risen to 165.
According to the Provincial Health Department, Peshawar has reported 38 cases, Mardan 32, Swabi 19, Charsadda 14, and Bajaur 12 dengue cases. So far, dengue cases have been reported from 20 districts in the province, including Bannu, Hangu, Torghar, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, and Haripur.
The advisor to the Chief Minister on Health has directed strict measures to control dengue in these high-risk areas.
