PESHAWAR: The death toll continues to climb in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to dengue fever as on Tuesday an 18-year boy succumbed to the disease in Peshawar taking the death toll to 70 across the province.
According to Incharge Dengue Rapid Response Unit, Department of Health, 18 year Ziaul Haq was resident of Peshawar and was admitted to the Kuwait Teaching Hospital in Peshawar.
He said that during last 24 hours as many as 125 patients were hospitalized due to dengue fever while 31 were discharged from different hospitals.
According to Assistant Commissioner (AC) Fazal Raheem, the District administration has dispatched as many as 210 teams to different areas of the city in a bid to eliminate the Dengue mosquitoes.
He said the teams comprising personnel of Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) and lady health workers were dispatched to Pishtakhara, Sarband, Speenay Waray, Bahadur Kallay, Tehkal, Shahin Town, Palosai, Pawakai, Danishabad, Tajabad and some other areas.
