Motorway section from Peshawar to Rashakai closed due to fog

PESHAWAR: Peshawar-Rashakai Motorway section (M1) has been closed for all kind of traffic on early Sunday morning due to dense fog.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) spokesperson informed that very cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country during next 24 hours.
The Motorway police have advised the drivers to switch on fog lights while driving at very slow speed as the visibility was dropped to zero metres due to dense fog.
The Motorway police have also requested the people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling as visibility was down to zero metres due to heavy fog.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Sunday has predicted cold and dry weather in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.
Mainly very cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However more rain-thunderstorm with snow over the hills is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas. Foggy conditions are expected in South Punjab and upper Sindh during morning hours.
Rain-thunderstorm occurred at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Kohat, Rawalpindi divisions, Islamabad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, while at isolated places in Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Peshawar divisions. Snowfall over the mountains occurred in Murree, Gilliyat, Malakand division, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the period.
