Deprivation among FATA people being removed: ACS

PESHAWAR: Additional Chief Secretary FATA, Sikandr Qayum here on Monday said that all available resources are being utilized for rehabilitation of TDPs as well as development and prosperity of FATA. He expressed these views while addressing the launching ceremony of the EU Funded “Aid to Uprooted People” of FATA Project at Governor House.  The ceremony was also attended by Ambassador of EU to Pakistan Jean Francois Cautain, Representatives of German Embassy, SRSP, EU, GIZ, KFW, officials of FATA Secretariat and Political Agents of respective agencies. Under the project investment would be initiated in education, health, irrigation, drinking water, energy and micro economic sectors in Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, North and South Waziristan Agencies.ACS said that the tribal people have rendered tremendous sacrifices and faced miseries and difficulties in war against terrorism. And now the time has come to address the deprivation of the tribal people. Thanking the donor agencies for provision of aid of 22 Million Euro for the development and prosperity of FATA, he said under this program in addition to others development schemes, the tribesmen would be imparted skilled training which would not only provide respectable livelihood opportunities to them but also enable them to play their role in the socio-economic development of the country.Referring to FATA reforms the ACS FATA said that the Government has decided to introduce reforms in FATA as per aspiration of tribesmen and concrete steps are being taken in this respect. …APP
