Dollar reaches Rs162 in interbank trading

Pakistani rupee registers fresh gains against US dollar

KARACHI: The US Dollar Wednesday reached to Rs162 mark in interbank trading. The greenback is being traded at Rs159 in the open market.
Similarly, a massive increase in the value of gold has also been witnessed during this week, with the yellow metal trading at Rs80,500 per 12 grams today.
The rupee has been falling against the dollar following an agreement with the International Monetary Fund on a $6 billon loan with expected strict conditions including a “market determined” exchange rate.
