ISLAMABAD: Dr Arif Alvi will take oath as Pakistan’s 13th president today at 1pm.
The oath will be administered by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar at President House.
Prime Minister Imran Khan, Senate Chairperson Sadiq Sanjrani and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa among other leaders are expected to attend the ceremony.
Dr Alvi was elected the country’s president on September 4. He is one of the founding members of the PTI and a dentist by profession.
Saturday was outgoing president Mamnoon Hussain’s last day in office. He was all smiles while leaving President House and presented with a guard of honour.
