ECP declares public holiday on July 25

Govt, opposition committee fails to select chief election commissioner

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday declared July 25 a public holiday in the country.
According to notification, in exercise of powers under Article 218 of the Constitution read with Section-4 and Section-8 (c ) of the Elections Act, 2017and all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the ECP is pleased to declare public holiday on 25th July, 2018 in the country.
The notification read that the public holiday is declared in order to enable the voters to exercise their right of franchise freely and conveniently. – APP
